What is an herbal tea?

Herbal teas, also called herbal infusions, are made from dried herbs, flowers, and/or fruits. Unlike white, green, oolong and black teas, herbal teas are not actually made from tea leaves. EPX Body Detox is an herbal tea blend of organic herbs and natural plant extracts.

Does it contain caffeine?
No, EPX Body Detox is naturally caffeine free. That being said, the result of its cleansing effect causes many people to feel more energized.

How much should I drink?
To experience the health benefits, drink 8 ounces of EPX Body Detox two or three times a day. As with all herbal teas, do not drink it in excess; not more than three cups a day unless recommended by a health care professional. Children should drink only 2 to 4 ounces a day.

For how long can I drink the tea? You can drink EPX Body Detox as long as you desire. (It contains NO Senna, which leaves a residue in the colon that could lead to health problems.) Many people enjoy the tea every day with meals and snacks. Some drink it as needed to maintain their health and regularity and as a healing tonic for various ailments.

How much will each tea bag make?

Each tea bag makes a half-gallon of prepared tea, which lasts one person about 4 days if they drink 8 ounces twice daily. Two tea bags make a gallon of tea, which is a one-week supply for one person.

How do I prepare the herbal tea?

To make a one-week supply, bring two cups of water to a full rolling boil then turn off heat. Place two teabags in the hot water; cover and steep for 4-8 hours (or overnight) to bring the herbs to full potency. Then pour contents (including the tea bags) into a gallon pitcher and fill with water. And it's ready to drink and/or refrigerate. (If you would prefer to prepare a half-week supply instead, follow the same directions above but use only one tea bag and a half-gallon of water.) Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Leave the tea bags in the pitcher until all the tea is consumed. Do not microwave the water or tea bags; doing so will destroy the tea's beneficial properties.

Can I drink the tea cold or hot?

Yes, like many herbal teas, EPX Body Detox can be consumed hot, warm, or cold. Some people feel that it works best for them when warm. To warm-up the prepared tea once it has been refrigerated, use the stovetop as the microwave will destroy the tea's beneficial properties.

What does it taste like?

The light amber colored tea has a mild herb flavor. Some say it has a subtle natural nut taste, although it contains no nuts. Like many herbal teas, EPX Body Detox tastes great hot, warm, or when iced. In addition, it can be mixed with sweeteners, lemon, other natural flavoring, another tea, juice, or beverage of your choice.

Are there any side effects?

EPX Body Detox is a safe, gentle cleansing tea. So if you do not already have regular bowel movements, the initial cathartic effect of the tea may cause bloating, mild stomach upset, loose stools, and diarrhea. However, once you have achieved bowel regularity, these conditions will lessen or go away completely.

What are cathartic herbs?

EPX Body Detox contains cathartic herbs, which help restore a sluggish bowel to its normal operation and can gently act as a natural laxative and constipation remedy. Will it cause me to have more bowel movements?

Like other cleansing teas, EPX Body Detox will promote regular bowel movements, which are essential for flushing toxins out of the body and preventing them from reentering the bloodstream. The initial cathartic effect of the tea will cleanse the intestinal tract. To maintain digestive health, aim for one bowel movement per main meal, which means two to three times a day. If you are having one or fewer bowel movements per day, it could be a sign a chronic constipation.

What if I'm going to the bathroom too much or am experiencing cramping from drinking the tea?

If you experience cramping or need to use the bathroom too often, it is recommended that you take a day off from drinking the tea. When you resume, drink less of the tea and adjust the amount to reach your desired results.

EPX Body Detox is a blend of safe, gentle medicinal herbs that have long history of use. The formulation has been used for more than twenty years. However, as with all herbal teas, do not drink it in excess; not more than two cups (16 ounces) a day unless recommended by a health professional.

Is the herbal tea safe for children to drink?

Yes, EPX Body Detox is safe for children to drink; however, it is recommended that they only drink 2 to 4 ounces a day. You may need to adjust the amount depending on how it affects the child's bowel movements (2-3 bowel movements per day is normal for a healthy colon).

Can I take it with my medications?

EpxBody Detox has been engineered by Dr. Miller to help your body achieve peak performance. Dr. Bill W. Miller (BS, MS, PhD) began testing Dr. Miller's Holy Tea over twenty years ago at his location in Jackson, Tennessee.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the accredited Lambuth University, and shortly thereafter began a quest in achieving personal optimum health and fitness. He founded and operated two prominent and successful Health & Fitness Centers in the West Tennessee area. One of these centers was the largest of its kind in the Southeastern United States! He personally trained and produced several acclaimed State, National, and World Champion Professional Arm Wrestlers and Bodybuilders at these centers. Additionally, during this same time period, he earned his Masters Degree in Nutritional Science from Lambuth University in 1974.

Still not satisfied with the impact he had made on societal health, he began the complicated task of formulating a tea based beverage that would help individuals lose weight in a fast, healthy, yet radical way. To start this colossal formulation and research process, he founded the Jackson Health & Wellness Clinic, where he painstakingly and tirelessly formulated Dr. Miller's Holy Tea, and began testing on volunteer individuals.

This remarkable tea formulation and its overall health benefits to the body were the topics of his final thesis, that earned him a Doctorate of Philosophy and Nutritional Science in 1994.
